    Independent Reserve maintains an insurance policy over the value of cryptocurrency held in our facilities. The insurance offered with a Premium Account plan insures you against a loss of any cryptocurrency that is held in an Independent Reserve wallet. The policy covers any breach of Independent Reserve’s physical security measures and employee theft. Your cryptocurrency is insured up to an equivalent AUD amount in line with your Premium Account tier.

    The policy does not cover any losses resulting from unauthorised access to your Independent Reserve account. It is your responsibility to use a strong password and maintain control of all login credentials you use to access Independent Reserve.

  • How a claim is processed

    How a claim is processed

    In a loss event, you will be compensated for any loss of your cryptocurrency holdings at the time of the incident up to the value of your Premium Account tier. The basis of valuation of your cryptocurrency holdings is determined by the United States Dollar (USD) price as stated on www.coingecko.com at the time of the incident.The USD price will be converted to Australian Dollars (AUD) at the USD / AUD exchange rate on the date of the loss event. The FX rate is publicly available on the Independent Reserve website. In the event that the coingecko.com website is not available, Independent Reserve will select a suitable, independent, publicly available pricing source.
